This is a simple list also from RAVI HOLY of his favourite films according to country of origin, and some crackers there are too. Makes you think, but. Quite a few of these films were breakout foreign-language successes in the UK and US, and if non-Anglophone producers could distil the formula for making such crossover hits then the world of film would be a wealthier, more boringly homogeneous place... Probably best to see these ten as gloriously distinctive products of their respective national cultures, if not necessarily the ones the Tourist Board would like you to take in...
